Education and Skills Development

Modern hi-tech greenhouses incorporate superior environmental management and food growing technologies. Our Filipino JV Partners will obtain opportunities to learn new greenhouse growing and crop management skills and obtain new forms of employment together with new entrepreneurial opportunities; where they did not exist before. To support this initiative CPRSX formed a collaboration with Delphy of the Netherlands, who deliver skills development training for crop growing in modern, high-tech greenhouses. Their courses include year round vegetable production, drip irrigation management, fertilisation principles, nitrogen and ammonium, photosynthesis, water filtration, air quality and circulation, humidity management, heating and cooling, LED grow lighting, yield and harvest forecasting, pest control, manufacturing tailored growing mediums, tree cultivation, plant nutrition, fossil-free agro, pruning and leaf management.

CPRSX also formed collaborative arrangements with with Wageningen University and Research of the Netherlands. They will deliver higher education in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Food Sciences & Technology and Environment & Ecology.

These courses are to be delivered in collaboration with the Tarlac and Quirino State Universities of the Philippines. The graduate students will become the next Filipino generation of greenhouse food production leaders, managers and researchers. They will be academically qualified within 2 years of our first Educational greenhouse becoming operational. Until then, Delphy and Wageningen UR will transfer teaching staff to the Philippines for two years or more to assist in developing the educational and skills development programs to suit the Filipino culture.
