NextChar’s Hugh Mclaughlan of North America is a pioneer, innovator and our partner in constructing commercial size Pyrolysis plants for our BioChar manufacturing in the Phillipines. NextChar is the designer of the first industrial scale Pyrolysis plant. This engineering technology is designed specifically for the production of consistently high quality biochar. NextChar’s Pyrolysis reactor produces a superior and consistent quality Biochar characterised by low ash content with minimal volatile organic compounds which can break down in the soil and reduce the Biochar effectiveness and porosity; thereby absorbing and retaining higher moisture content setting a proper standard for high-performance biochar.
In addition to NextChar, CPRSX collaborated with another global expert Edward Someus, a Swedish environmental engineer whose core competencies centre on organic waste added value, recycling and valorisation by Pyrolysis, carbon processing and reuse applications. Edwards research and work was funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) Theme 2: Food, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Biotechnology.
Edward’s specialities concern the reducing of mineral fertilisers and chemicals use in agriculture by recycling treated organic waste as compost and biochar products. His Pyrolysis technology converts un-exploited biomass resources into bio-phosphate which contains >30% P2O5 and works as a controlled release fertiliser. This process supports the industrial implementation of the new EU Fertilising Products Regulation objectives. The Bio-Phosphate substitutes are <11% of all mineral phosphate in agriculture and can be a strategic resource for organic farming.
In 2019 Edwards organisation Terra Humana, also finalised the development of zero emission and high temperature Pyrolysis technology to recover Bio-Phosphate made from food grade animal bones for use in Agriculture, fertilisers and forestry industries, as food and water nutrients for waste management & secondary raw materials. Our objective of constructing and commercialising BioChar fertiliser production is now a reality.
